Inward Rolling Feet (Pronation)

Inward Rolling Feet (Pronation)

Although pronation is a normal part of the gait cycle, an excess can result. Upon visual examination, it can be noted that that the foot abnormally rolls in and causes the longitudinal arch to flatten during weight bearing. Excessive pronation usually causes painful callosities at the base of the great toe, and contributes to the formation of bunions, hammer toes and callouses.

At the very least the patient needs arch support to limit pronation.
